Plot Summary Maggie, a volunteer development worker, is away from home for the first time. Placed in a small African village, she finds herself caught between her beliefs and those of her new community. Despite her good intentions, her actions are often misunderstood. Undeterred, she challenges corruption and compromise when she discovers her servant has been unjustly arrested, only to learn that her preconceptions were naive and false. |
